    Danava Empty Re: Danava

Post by Vox Sat Mar 03, 2012 4:29 am

Name: Danava Atanka (Roughly translated it would mean 'demon of terror' )

    Rank: Samael Exterminator

    Birthplace: Centre Uncha Island

    Age: presumably over 900

    Combat Style: 'Vein' Magic user

    Ethnic Background: Astenai

Height: 1.88 meters Weight: 72 kg (excluding wing mass)
    87kg (including wing mass)

    Hobbies: .... killing people

What he likes: Making others suffer

What he dislikes: anyone who would innterrupt his 'fun'.

Danava was born to Omis Atanka, current king over the uncha islands and the Astenian peoples of the islands. In order to fully understand where this is all coming from one would have to know more about the Astenai themselves.

The Astenai are a race borne of a plane, or some would call entity, of pure magic known only as the 'Vein'. The vein is a plane of pure magic, corruption, chaos and death and as such the Astenai reflect this in their manerisms. An Astenai can be mistaken for an elf easily in their normal and more passive forms, this passive form only being unlocked once the astenai has died once before. Otherwise they keep the elven features, pointed ears, sharper features, lean body structure and high cheekbones with the exception of horns if varying number and size a tail and their signiture lumanous eyes.
Aside from this an astenai can be recognised by the faint but constant scent of blood around them. Astenai do not sustain themselves in the normal manner to most beings, instead they feed off others, or rather, another's life. This is done by literally pircing the chest of their victem and ripping the very life from them, usually a very bloody, and very painful affair. In return for this act the Astenai will not age past a certain stage and if they are killed in any conventional manner they may merely claim another form. There is a downside to this process however, upon being defeated the Astenai is vunerable and unable to move upon re-awakening, only after they have been able to kill or feed off a nearby creature or being will the cycle be complete and they will be able to move. There are ecceptions to this rule as the more powerful and well-fed astenai may not be as badly affected by the re-awakening.
Being borne of the Vein the Astenai peoples are very proficient with its dark and shadowed magics, being able to draw power from that realm they are able to bring forth devistation, conjure portals through the Vein to other realms, or parhaps even change their own appearance. The Astenai are not without weakness however, if one would save an Astenai's life they are bound to that person for their next lives, or the life of their master, how long depends on the severity of the situation. For instance, if they saved the Astenai from dying a true death then that Astenai would be bound to that person until he or she died, if it was only a tempral death then that master may have ontrol over the Astenai for that life that they had saved.
Because oftheir nature they were quickly branded demons by the inhabitants of the plain they settled on and the name rather stuck, letting them being known as Astenous Demons by most rather than Astenai.
In short Astenai are a race of beings bread to kill, destroy and spread chaos wherever they may walk, weather they be doing it on their own or ordered by another.

Danava was no exception to the rule of the typical Astenai as he grew up in the city of Aleiba, the Onyx and crimson city. There, in order to retain your rank you would have to kill all those who stood in your way, or likewise be killed as you were in the way of another. Danava grew strong in this environment, eventually daring others to challange him rather than wait to be picked off. As prince and next in line for the throne Danava had only one person in mind. Omis being the only one between him and the throne and so Danava gathered his strength, challanging others and draining them of their lives in order to strengthen his own before even attempting to take on his father.

Newly forged reaver claws strapped upon his arms Danava marched into the throne room and challanged his father, claiming he was far too weak to keep the throne. Omis was hardly pleased and issued a single warning as he lifted himself from the onyx throne, that should he go through with this, he would utterly destroy him. Having a chip on his shoulder, a point to prove and plans to execute Danava threw the warning aside and charged at his father. The battle was firce and lasted what seemed to be an eternity to the two combatants. Despite the loyalty of some of the onlookers below none would dare intervine for fear of their lives. Soon enough the fight escalated as Danava threw Omis from the thrown room and out of the tower into the shadoy lands below. Not letting the chance slip by Danava persued and ensured that the now weakned and wounded Omis would not escape his clutches. Danava eventually found his father had used the last of his strength to conjure a rift and escape. Knowing he probably died a normal death from the wounds Danava was furious, vowing he would hunt him down and destroy him so that he could take his rightful place as king. With no evidence of Omis's passing Danava could not remain anything more than the prince he already was. Frustrated, he took what little power Omis's absence granted him and used his other resourses to track him.

Having found no sign of him for years Danava was about to force an uprising in favour of his rule, that was before one of his lackeys returned from the mainland and informed him of an elf with a similar appearance to Danava's father. Not wanting to take any chances Danava sent a lackey of his to send him a message... a lesson never to run away again. Akuma, Danava's servant hurried off to the elven capital of Insarum and found Omis, however he was no longer known as Omis, but went by the name Aluida Desa'de. The more Akuma investigated the more it would seem that Omis had somehow lost his memory of the entire ordeal, the possibilities that his injuries were so great he had not come back whole were intirely possible. In an attempt to 'jog his memory' Akuma used the magics of the vein to disguise himself as Aluida and get close to his woman before destroying her completely, insuring Aluida was there to witness it. He loomed over the dead woman in the shadows with a bright grin on his face and an enchanted dagger soaked with blood in his hands. "Time to wake up my king." he said intentionally and mockingly before dissappearing into the Vein and returning to Danava.

Danava was pleased at the news of his father being located, but not so much later when he found out that Omis, now known as Aluida had set off after Akuma instead of himself. Knowing the message was not truly delivered Danava ordered Akuma to follow and torment Aluida to whichever realm he may go.
It had been many years again before Danava decided it had grown too quiet and had set out himself, believing it too an important task to leave in the hands of Akuma for much longer. For some reason Danava was not able to sence either of the two astenai and spent ages searching for them, knowing if he found one he would inivatably find the other. Deciding to take a more 'passive' stance for a change Danava decided to work with a human of great ability known as Goltan, a leader of a powerful guild bent on taking over the plane they were on. Danava found it amusing to watch the battles and at times take part in them, using the skirmishes as an excuse to sate his own thirst for death. He soon became the second in command of this guild and was content there for some time... until in one perticular battle he caught wind of a fermiliar presance within the Vein. He decided it could be no other than Akuma and set out to decend upon him in battle, Akuma had been fighting on the other side due to having been taken on by a master. Danava had nearly granted his associate a true death before a blue-haired elf weilding a long silver blade interviened, killing Akuma in the normal manner. At this time Danava had taken him to be nothing more than a mere half-blood but it later dawned upon him that that man, that... elf had been who he had been searching for the entire time. Deciding to let things play through and allow Aluida to come to him Danava sat and waited it out, letting Aluida get closer and closer all the while he would prepare for the next battle. It had come too soon for his liking however and this time it was Danava that had been forced to retreat through a rift, this rift in perticular leading to the earthen plane.

Aluida followed however by the time he had gotten there it was too late, Danava had already escaped and had begun to gather his power again for the next attack. In an odd turn of events Aluida had joined Samael in order to take down Danava, ironic that in a few weeks after that agreement he had been sought out by yet another player in this ever increasingly complex act. A boy known as Adin, sharing his own features had come to seek him out, claiming that he was his son and that he was in need of Aluida's help to stop a war between the Elves and Astenai back on their home plane. Not believing all the boy had said Aluida reluctantly followed, planning to set out and end the war as best they could before returning to seek out Danava.
Uopn exiting the portal however it appeared that Danava had been planning for just this event as Aluida and Adin were ambushed by a force of Asteni assassins. Aluilda was utterly destroyed in the attack while Adin was able to escape and eventually bring an end to the war in his own ways.

Anticipating the outcome, and having knowladge of his half-brother Danava prepared himself as he could for his inevatable return, however as he was doing so he encountered by a man who called himself Ophiel and gave him an offer he could simply not turn down. Despite having been allied with Aluida before Ophiel extended the invitation for Danava to join Samael and become one of its exterminators, promising a slaughter like no other he had ever seen before.
Since Adin was not too much of a concern at the time and the prospect of uneanding slaughter intrigued him Danava decided to accept the offer and work for Ophiel. While Danava preferrs to call none master he senced Ophiels power and ability and thus respects him and as such will follow him, if not only for the promise made to him.
