A tour of the Realms

In one of the seedier sections of the majestic city of waterdeep a sign was nailed out on a board post outside of an Inn called the Drunken Toad. Infused with a magic rune that would allow all to read it despite language differences, It read as thus. Greetings and hello! My name is Volotham Geddarm! And i am seeking a few trusty fellows to share and adventure! One that shall take us far and wide across the realms! From North to South, East and West and everywhere in between! It is my hope to once again pick up the pen and detail all that i can about this great world that we live in. So what say you hopeful traveler? Will you aid in the creation of the finest set of writing the likes of which this world has never known? Inquire inside with a pint of ale.

Not long in to the day the more sensitive mages would have fealt a rather odd pull of magical energy inside the city itself, only to vanish as soon as it appeared, leaving a few confused if not intrigued.

At the same time of the disturbance an odd rift would have formed in an alleyway in the depths of the city, a robed, winged figure quite literally tumbling out in to the alley, quite nearly smacking against a crate against the wall, sending a few birds that had settled there in to a frightned frenzy, flying about the alley before making their way in to the air.the figure stumbled to his feet, leaning heavily against the wall. His build would be tall and lean, but not overly so, large white wings making him appear taller than he already was, long dark blue hair fell about his face and shoulders, down to the middle courses of his back. He set a gloved hand to his face, staying there a while, the portals always sent him for a block of chalk, screwing with his equilibrium. He slid down the wall, deciding to sit there a moment till his world stopped spinning

With a dozen shouts, cursing, and even more shouting a young man with white hair and violet eyes was thrown out of a window and into the alleyway. He hit the ground with a wet thud and laid there for sometime before moving his head. His soaking wet body smelled of urine and other unpleasantness. The swollen redness of his face was clear evidence of assault from multiple parties. From the window a scruffy looking man stuck his head out the window and threw a bucket on slop onto the white haired man's head. "And don't come back till you have the money!" He yelled before slamming the window closed.

Aluida lifted his head a moment at the sound of the thud, instantly regretting the sudden movement as it fealt someone hit him alongside the head with a hammer. He set his hand to the side of his head with a slight groan, hair covering the one side of his face as he opned a brilliant blue eye to look to the man who'd just been thrown. "Hey." He spoke up from where he was, groggy, but able to pice together what happned, "you alive there?"

"Define... alive." The man groaned.

"Alive." He nodded to himself, testing his mobility, moving his wing out a bit before pushing himself to stand, albeit a bit shaky still. He looked down to the man, moving over some, mostly ignoring the smell. "Do you have a place I could take you?"

"Well.. I was just thrown out of where I was staying so... at the moment...... no." He said, still laying on the ground where he was thrown.

"That helps." He stretches a bit, "then a general area. You. Well. I believe you're in need of a bath. And healing."

Tannin slowly got up to his feet. "You don't say? No my friend, this is a regular afternoon. Come on, i know a place just down the road." He said before limping out of the alley.

Aluida followed after him, idly resting his hand on the hilt of his blade purely out of habit, "i take it the people of this realm are less than friendly. charming"

"No. I'm just bad with money." Tannin said, wincing as he walked along. They made it out into the street and Tannin started down the road. "By the way, My name's Tannin, can I get yours or are you the mysterious type?"

"Hardly. My name is Aluida Desa'de." he said whilst casting Tannin a glance before turning his gaze to the city, seeming to try get a feel for it, watching the people some

"Good i hate those types, So how long you been in Waterdeep? Don't seem to know this place." Tannin said with a smile. "Can spot a stranger to the city a mile away."

"a few minutes" He chuckles slightly, "you prettymuch arrived just after i did"

"Oh.... Ported in I see. You a magic user I take it? You wizards always porting around everywhere, I'll admit I'm a bit guilty of it myself but still, Whatever happened to the good old fashion walking or riding?" He asked.

Aluida, lifted his hand, waving it down slightly, "hey slow down. Not a wizard. i may know some magics yes, but i'm not a mage. Far more cofortable with using my blade. not. that i came with harmful intentions mind you. just looking for someone"

"Alright alright, So who you looking for? I can find anyone in this city." Tannin boasted.

Alu declines his head slightly, skewing his mouth to the side as if his words left a bad taste behind. "Man named Akuma. Doubt you know what an Astenai is so just know he's a crafty shapeshifter that rather enjoys killing, tricking people, and causing all round mayhem"

"Sounds fun." Tannin said nonchalantly. "So what'd he do to you? Steal your woman? Kill your father? Owes you money?"

"The man's a monster. let's leave it at that."

"Hm. Met a few of those myself. Fun at parties. Here we are." Tannin stopped in front of a bustling tavern. "The Drunken Toad." He read aloud. "Funny, last week it was the The Whorehouse Mouse. Owners supposedly cursed. as to change the name of the Inn every five days or he'll drop dead. Personally I think he just likes to fuck with people." He said before walking inside.

"Never heard a curse that involved having to change a tavern name.. peculiar" he said, disregarding what Tannin said about them being 'fun at parties'

"You obviously aren't from around here. Those sort of stories pop up all the time." Tannin said looking around at the crowded Inn.

"We already established that" he said whilst closing his eyes a moment, pausing before looking to the paitrons within the inn. "its rather interesting how most places have the same basic set of races." he muttered to himself as he followed tannin in

"Say what?" Tannin asked, barely hearing what he had said.

From a nearby table a man surrounded by bits of paper and books was speaking to the serving girl. "That tab? Right uhhh.. uh another Ale please, I'll uh. I'll have your coin in a minute." When the girl walked away the man desperately looked around for anyone who would be interested in joining his endeavor. Spotting Alu and Tannin he called out to them. "Excuse me, yes you two, the white haired one and elf with wings, please, do come over here a moment. I have a propitiation for you."
