Blood Hunt

Nick's mind was racing. He sat in the corner of the room huddled up in fetal position. In front of him were four human bodies each armed with handguns of some kind and one giant pile of ash in a nearby chair with a double barreled shot gun stretched across it. Three bodies and the pile of ash were there when he awoke. The fourth body was his own doing. He had no idea what happened. The man put a gun to Nick's chest and pulled the trigger. But it didn't kill him. All it really did was hurt and piss him off. He couldn't remember anything after that, and he doubted that he wanted to. When he came to he had blood covering his front and the man had his throat torn out.

He knew people were after him. He knew he wasn't safe so he grabbed one of the pistols. He had fired a gun a few times before but it had been a few years since he had last held one. Kinda silly in this town but he lived in a safe neighborhood and didn't feel like he needed to really know how to use one. He was kicking himself now.

He had barely enough time to catch his breath before three more men kicked his door in. He could tell almost immediately that these weren't normal people. Not even thinking of what he was doing he jumped out of the apartment window as soon as the three started shooting at him. Having no clue where he was he didn't expect to be three stories up. He hit the ground hard and could swear that he heard something break, He didn't stop and check though. He quickly got back up to his feet and limped down the back ally way trying desperately to get away from those hunting him.

it wasn't natural, whatever it was it was fast. Claude sprinted down the hallway of the grey complex, hugging a small envalope close to her chest. "THE HELL!" she shouted as she skidded to a halt... the had blocked her exit.

Claude had been asked to retrieve a small shipment of diamonds due to go out in the morning, what happned next was all a blurr. What she could fathom was that somewhere along the line she had gotten the diamonds and gotten caught, how she had no clue. She was always sure to cover her tracks and make sure that no one could trace back to her, she even had a fake apartment in the centre of the city and the one she actually stayed at at an unknown location.

Claude took a nervous glance behind her and caught her reflection in one of the windows, she was covered head to toe in blood. She would of stopped to stare if the others hadn't started shooting. Not knowing any better cource of action she raced back towards the way she thought she had come from. After running a few paces in the opposite direction she made a quick left and whipped out her skeleton keys and tried them in the door to her left. After a few moments of fumbling with the lock a resounding click hit her ears. she sighed a short breath of relief before pushing the door open and slamming it shut behind her buying her a few seconds. She looked around nerviously and noted that she was on the outside, a stairwell lead down the side of the building into the street. It wasn't but a few seconds after bullets started ripping through the door, Claude yelped as one grazed her arm before another followed and plunged itself into her arm.
Withought thinking she used the railing of the stairs as a slide and ran out into the streets. After doubling back a few times she rested against a wall panting heavily, "Things shouldn't have gone this way..... It's like they werent even interested in the diamonds.... just on killing me..."

Nick ran through six lanes of moving traffic to get across the street away from his hunters. He dived into a nearby diner and tried to find a seat as calmly as he could. After finding one far from the windows he sunk into the booth and tried to calm down the best that he could.

After a few minutes a waitress came and he ordered himself some coffee so that he didn't look too suspicious. while waiting for the coffee he dialed 911 hoping that someone would be able to help him. After three attempts he was finally able to get through, The operator told him that a cruiser would be there shortly and that he should stay where he was at. Easier said than done he thought. If he even so much as smelled the guys that were after him he would bolt out through the back door. Now that he thought about it though he remembered that they were rather smelly, in fact everything was. He figured that it was due to the adrenaline rush and put the thought in the back of his mind.

Claude ducked behind a dumpster in a nearby alley as she heard police sirens growing louder. After a few moments she stopped to think things through, from where she entered the complex then made her way through the halls to the guarded room. It was all easy enough.... After she went into the room and nabbed the diamonds she drew a blank. Claude rested her head against the dumpster, it wasnt like her to forget anything. Usually shed have a good memory, photographic even but now she was struggling even to remember how she even got the diamonds.
absentmindedly she placed her hand on her arm before it suddeny dawned on her... "I've been shot!" she quickly removed her blood soaked jacket before examining her arm... Nothing. "but....." it was as unusual as the rest of that night.

Claude let out a sigh and started thinking of her next move. "First.... i have to dissappear," she said to herself, "get rid of the diamonds. But before that i need a change of clothes. I left one not too far from here in case, lets hope no one found it..." With that Claude sat on her haunches and watched for a break in the traffic before rushing across the street into another alley. She made her way towards her stash using the backstreets and unpopulated areas, none would act too well towards someone covered in blood.
After ahwile she reached the point where she had stored her extra clothing, behind an old diner under one of the drains in a carefully wrapped parcel. She made a quick change, making sure no one was watching before dumping her old clothes along with the diamonds. The outfit she had now donned was that of a simple delivery woman, the uniform supposedly belonging to the diner that she had retrieved it from. Claude washed off the blood that was on her skin and in her hair before entereing through the back door of the diner, drawing the peak of the cap over her eyes as not to draw attention.

Nick was finally calming down when another adrenaline spike hit him out of nowhere. He felt the need to run as far away as possible from something but couldn't exactly tell what from. That is until he caught sight of the woman who had just walked through the back door. He didn't know how or why, but Nick could tell that this woman was like the people chasing him. Without even thinking of what he was doing Nick jumped out of his seat and bolted for the front door knocking everyone and everything out of his way as he made his escape.

Claude tenced as she saw a man rise from his seat, for a split second she felt the need to get as far away from him as possible. Obviously the same thought was shared by the man as he bolted the moment he saw her. Claude felt the need for her to bolt weaken as he moved away and quickly reained her composure. After a few seconds she used the distraction to her advantage and grabbed a package of deliveries and pickpoketed skooter keyes from the real delivery man. With that small victory under her belt she wandered outside towards the scooter and placed the food in the back before climbing onto the vehicle and riding it down the street as nonchalantly as possible.
